Badgetec, Suffern, NY, USA, has introduced the Pass ID System, a new type of clothing-attachment and badging system that is eco-friendly, clothing-safe, child-safe, and preferred by women. The company says the new pass is ideal for business meetings, museums and other facilities which need to visually identify individuals on tours as well as visitors, yet cannot use adhesive stickers because they stick to floors and create housekeeping problems.

The new Pass ID is paper recyclable and attaches to clothing by a new type of inexpensive plastic clip, thus eliminating adhesive and plastic holder. The plastic clip attaches to clothing in a safer manner than traditional badge clips and button pins by eliminating the sharp teeth and points on metal clips and pins. The new clip, called the Contour Clip because of its smooth contoured shape, is 100 percent recyclable like ordinary polypropylene products.It is 1½” high with a triangular groove that captures the garment fabric.

With the new clip concept, instead of all of the attachment force to a small area such as the point of a pin or the metal edges of a bulldog clip, it spreads the force over the larger area of the contoured groove in the plastic. This larger fabric-capture-area produces less pressure – but more total force – on the fabric itself. The company says that women who have worn these new Pass IDs and badges state that they prefer the Contour Clip over traditional adhesive labels and metal bulldog clips because of its ease-of-use and clothing-safe design. For school children outings, the Contour Clip is completely safe as it has no sharp edges. Unlike adhesive labels, it is more secure and does not fall off on the floor while being worn.
